Bid to avert industrial action in US ports

US retailers have called for continued dialogue in contract negotiations between dockworker unions and port bosses to avoid “supply chain disruption, delay or stoppage” in the east and gulf coast ports.

The US National Retail Federation (NRF) wants to avoid port industrial action, which could “stifle global commerce and jeopardise the fragile US economic recovery”.
