Box volumes increase between Australia and Europe

Second quarter container volumes between Australia and Europe have started strongly with imports climbing for a fifth consecutive month, according to the latest data from Container Trades Statistics (CTS).

Container exports to Europe from Australia rose 6.1% to 218,600 teu from 206,000 teu a year earlier and 230,000 teu in March, CTS said.

Volumes on this route have risen every month since December 2011 with March posting the biggest gain...
