NOTICE TO THE TRADE – 2008 BUSINESS PLAN

RATE RESTORATION PROGRAMME AND PEAK SEASON SURCHARGE

FOR SHIPMENTS FROM HONG KONG AND TAIWAN TO AUSTRALIA

Member lines of the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) wish to advise the trade that they have agreed on voluntary and non-binding basis to implement the following RR and PSS in 2008:-

* RR of US$200/TEU and US$400/TEU on 19 th January, 2008

* RR of US$350/TEU and US$700/FEU on 1 st July, 2008

* RR of US$350/TEU and US$700/FEU on 15 th September, 2008

It is also the intention of AADA member lines to implement a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) of US$250/TEU when vessels of member lines reach a full loading situation. The effective date of the PSS will be announced at a later date.

The above RR and PSS, which will be applicable to all dry and refrigerated shipments with origins in Hong Kong and Taiwan to ports and points in Australia, will be levied in addition to prevailing market rates and will be subject to all ancillary charges applicable at the time of shipment.

AADA is a voluntary discussion agreement of 13 ocean carriers serving the trade from North and East Asia to destinations in Australia. Members include :-
